| http://www.classiquepromotions.com/?genre=5&page=369This is Julian Smith who also goes by the name Joolz Gianni. Since he is already a professional musician, does he qualify to be a contestant on the show? I have no idea what the rules are, this is why I am asking. I loved his performance, but since finding this out, I have to admit I am confused and disturbed. He's deleted his website since appearing on the show, which further adds to my confusion. Apparently a lot of comments are also being deleted with regards to his other identity on the show's website. IF, and I do mean IF, he broke the rules, wouldn't it be in everyone's best interests if he is quietly disqualified? I have to say, if he did indeed break the rules, was it in an attempt to appeal to a bigger audience? I imagine that being a profession saxophone player must be limited to a select fan base. Please correct me if I am wrong. I should have done this earlier before I hit the "send" button. I googled him on You Tube. He has music videos there. | |

| I'm about as confused as you are right now, this is the first I've heard of it and to be honest it makes no sense. I'm not denying his musical ability, he's great but I don't really understand what's going on. Surely somebody in the audience or the show team would have known him and realised. | |

| My google skills, let me show you them... http://www.itv.com/Termsandconditions/Competitionsandvotes/BritainsGotTalentapplication.htmlI found an application for the show, it doesn't say you can't be a professional already. I be-bopped around the web, and found other sites where they claim the only rule on BGT is that there are no rules. I still don't think this is quite fair. If you are already a professional, then you are tainting the contest with your experience. | |

| Hmmmm. I completelty agree, I don't think it's fair. Honestly though if you're already a professional I can't see the point in applying. | |

| I think he just wants to expand his fan base. I could be very wrong, but why else would he risk this, if there is something about not already being a professional. I find it suspicious that he has taken down the website he had. Why do that if he did nothing wrong by entering the contest? | |

| The videos on You Tube weren't submitted by him, I think that's why they are still there. I am still inclined to think he just wanted to reach a wider audience. Since many comments regarding his site (the one he took down) and other sites that feature videos of him, (not just on You Tube) are being deleted form BGT's forum, it still makes me wonder about all of this. If it's no big deal that he's already a professional, then why delete comments from users who merely point this out? I can understand deleting ugly comments, but not ones that are asking a question that to me seems entirely legitimate. | |

| The only thing that bothers me is that the Producers and Judges obviously would have known who he was and just disregarded it and let him perform. After watching some of his videos I do like his music and think he is talented but if he's in a band which he created more than 15 years ago. I can understand trying to get more fans but there's other ways than doing it, very controversial subject but in a way it's cheating not just the competition but the audience and the voters. | |

| He said he wanted to play before a huge audience on a regular basis... maybe he plays in small concert rooms ?
I might be mistaken but I believe I read somewhere he is a music teacher...

Maybe he is used to play in front of 100 or so people in small concert rooms ? Being a professional in the entertainment business does'nt mean you are worldwide known...

| Anyhow we know the competition is open to everyone, professional or not... If I remember well he said he'd like to play before a big audience regularly...
Is it easier to make records than live performances ?

| "Prior to the Julian Smith Britain’s Got Talent audition, backstage he told co-hosts Ant and Dec, ‘Playing saxophone is my life, I’ve been playing this for 20 years and to just purely play it for a living would be the ultimate dream."
Selling records doesn't make a living...
